Scholarships
The HN Charles “Otter” Sare Foundation believes in helping others achieve their educational aspirations. The foundation will provide yearly scholarships to students graduating from Hemet High School, Hemet, CA, and also scholarships to any student’s who are planning on attending or who are currently attending Utah State University in an effort to pursue higher education following graduation from high school.
2009 Hemet High School Scholarship Winner
We are proud to announce our first 2009 Hemet High School Scholarship winner, Leila Slayton of Hemet, California. Leila graduated in June, from Hemet, and has plans to attend University of California, Irvine as she hopes to become a lawyer.
Leila has spent her last four years in the AFJROTC program and was the Squadron Commander. Leila has received a number of awards while in the JROTC program, has been involved in many community service projects as well as graduating with a 3.892 GPA.
Leila says she may not know exactly what her future holds, but she is excited for the next chapter in her life to begin. She is ready for the challenge and ready to succeed. Congratulations Leila on your accomplishments ,and the HN Charles “Otter” Sare Foundation hopes you will be successful and your dreams will be fulfilled.
2009 Utah State University Scholarship Winner

We are proud to announce our first 2009 Utah State University Scholarship Winner, Jasmin Diaz of Logan, Utah. Jasmin will be graduating from Logan High School this year and she desires to pursue her education by attending Utah State University in the fall.
Jasmin stated growing up her mother has “always told me how grateful I should feel for being a US citizen.” Jasmin also states, “Patriotism to me doesn’t only mean that I have to be proud of being an American. Patriotism is helping this country become a better place.”
